gosh, it's been so long since i've updated once again. i just haven't had the time to really sit down and update on things but i have been keeping up with all of my fabulous xanga buddies!

the past few months in a nutshell...

[november] the hubs was laid off

[december-january] got through the crazy holiday season and then went on our trip to korea.  seriously it was crazy buying, wrapping and then transporting over 30 gifts...

[january] my first week back at work we had layoffs...i somehow survived but my workload has tripled...all the extra hours and being the only source of income in our family has been the main reason i haven't had the chance to sit down and update...i'm always so tired or stressed!

[february] went on a ski trip/cabin trip with a bunch of friends

[may] we took a trip to jamaica for our 2 year wedding anniversary....how time flies!  we stayed at the rockhouse which was AMAZING!

[june] the hubs and i took 10 hours of golf lessons...the hubs is officially hooked...to the point where i am already ready to throw out his clubs.  the hubs also turned 30...we kept it lowkey and had dinner with some friends and then went to the range after...yes the golf range...god can he get anymore obsessed??

[july] we quit smoking....(still a work in progress), went to 2 fabulous weddings, the hubs finally started working this week, and i will be turning 28 this weekend.  oh yesssss and one of bestest chings and his wife are preggers!  i can't wait to be a gohmo!! yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!  god i definitely have babies on the brain...the fabulous baby blogs i read feed into my obsession....

so that's about it...i do have a bunch of pictures to upload but i'll just start out with some from the korea trip.  we left the day after christmas and were there through the new year. it was an amazing trip filled with tons of food, sightseeing, and family. it was my first time back since yonsei in '99 and this time around it was totally devoted to meeting relatives and food. i was able to introduce the hubs to my relatives, we don't have a big family and no one is really close so it was pretty damn awkward.  nonetheless it was still great to see everyone.  my cousin and his wife took the hubs and i on an overnight trip to my dad's hometown of sokcho in gangwondo province. can you believe that it was the first time ever that my cousin-in-law was away from the house they share with her father in law, my keun appah, in the 15+ years my cousin and her have been married?? i can't imagine!  that's super hardcore, lol she was definitely giddy to spend a night away from home.

some pics from our trip to sokcho, surak san, etc...seriously...we freezed our butts off...they had just gotten snow up there and we were up in the mountains so lets just say we should have brought some long underwear...

on our way back to seoul we stopped at restaurant in the mountains that rich's uncle had recommended....it's known for it's bibim bap and traditional korean decor...i think part of a drama was filmed here...

for the remainder of our stay in korea we stayed with rich's family.  i'll update more on that part of the trip but i will say that he has a HUGE family (his mom has 7 sisters!) and they were so welcoming and fabulous in every way possible...i finally have the big extended family that i always wanted!  alright that's it for now but i'll be back soon!

ahh it's been so long!  work has been just crazy busy for the past few months...this poor economy is really, really hurting the luxury market.  so depressing!  i've been keeping up to date with everyone's posts...i just haven't had the chance to update.

turkey day was great....our parents made it easy for us again and celebrated together at my parents' house.  another year getting by with only making sides...the day i have to cook the turkey...oh man oh man...not ready for that...

i will be back with a monster update next year!  the hubs and i are leaving for korea on christmas evening and will be back in the new year!  i'm very excited to see family and to stuff myself silly...i haven't been back since '99!  any must see recommendations for while we're there?  more like MUST EAT places?

anyways, happy holidays and i wish you all and your families the best in the new year!  ho ho ho!

i can't believe the summer's over!  it flew by and i feel like i didn't do much.  but i am ending it with a trip to SOBE this friday for my gf's bachelorette party.  i can NOT wait for this week to be over...i hope it's not too rainy this weekend!

i turned 27 last month.  it's weird to think that im 27 now...i don't feel any different but at the same time i've been noticing in the past year how much harder it is to gain weight and then lose it.  my metabolism has definitely slowed down which is really freaken sad.  lately i've been walking around a lot more and watching what i eat.  my goal is to try to have a bangin body before i have a baby....which gives me about 2 years to reach my goal lol.  for the past 6 months the hubs was not working so he literally dropped me off in front of my office and picked me up everyday and he also did most of the cooking.  it was great but i gained weight and i became even more lazier then i already was.  but the hubs is working now and i'm back to slumming it on the NYC subways...i've had to adjust my schedule so the hubs now drops me off at the subway near by before driving to work.  i get into the city an hour earlier than i need to so i've been going to MIL's store to eat breakfast with her, packing lunch and then walking to work.  i guess not paying for food evens out the cost of my monthly metrocard....also i get to bond with the MIL more.  i think our pup is suffering though.  she was used to being at home with dad all day and going on lots of walks, now she is all alone shredding up her newspaper and chewing up the corner of our wall or the coffee table!  how do we get her to stop???  poor penny!  :(

so i thought i was over clubbing for my birthday but my oppa opened his club this year and i've been waiting forever for this to happen.  haha the hubs wasn't thrilled about it but he sucked it up (especially since i said it's the last time before we try for babies in 2 years) but mainly because he knows how much joe oppa means to me!  if you're ever in NYC check out Club Circle!

on a random note i bought myself a gift....i've been eyeing these Fiorentini + Baker boots for a while and they are clearly over my budget but i bought them anyway.  i figured since i was supporting the two of us since feb...i deserved it!  haha but the hubs didn't agree and now i'm not allowed to shop for a while!  but hey it was painful enough for me to purchase considering i haven't paid full retail for anything since i started working at saks.  but what can you do...they dont sell them here...

boots

i likey.  plus u can detach the buckles and upper part of the boot and then you got booties!  so 2 pairs in one!

on another random note the hubs and i are making a trip out to korea this winter!  i can't wait...i haven't been since yonsei in '99!  i can't wait to pig out, shop, get my hair done a few times, and meet all the fam!

i will leave you guys with a picture of our family dogs

i'm back with an update!  a major long one.  my cousin's son's visit was good.  him and his gf are really fobby and innocent so we didn't have much to worry about.  we ended up having them crash on our couches.  they basically wanted to see as many sights as possible and shop as much as possible.  it was funny because my nephew wanted to shop way more than his gf.  there were so many things he was looking to buy.  i must be getting old because some of the stuff he wanted to buy i have never heard of...like christian audigier t-shirts?  he got really excited when he found out i worked for a dept store...i guess the love of clothes runs in the family...

so it was an intense weekend and we packed in as much as we could.  here's a summary of what we accomplished...

THURS

9am- nephew and gf arrive in NY via bus from Toronto.  my dad tried to meet them at port authority so he could take them for breakfast and drop them off in ktown for one of those bus tours of the city.  they ended up getting dropped off at penn station and the hubs who wasn't working that day dropped me off at work and then headed towards midtown to try and find them.  they all meet at penn station and my dad basically says hi and leaves for work and the hubs takes them back to long island city to our apt to drop off their stuff and took them to a diner for hamburgers for breakfast.  they missed the korean tour so the hubs trained it back out to the city with them and they all hopped on one of those nyc double decker bus tours.  hahaha poor hubs!

7pm they meet me after work...we train it back to LIC, pick up our car, and drive to flushing to have dinner with my parents.  then back to my parents house for dessert.

9:30pm we drive the kids back out to the city so they can see some more sights.  we drive them through times square and let them out so they can take some night pictures.

11pm we take them up the empire state building

12:30am i walk them inside camel, a bar/lounge in ktown, to show them where the hubs and i first met lol.

1:30am we get home and plan out the next day's activities

Friday

9am we head back out to the city.  i had taken the day off because the kids really wanted to go shopping at woodbury.  we stop at the inlaw's deli for breakfast and then made a stop at saks.

1pm we leave saks to head up to woodbury.  stop in harlem on the way up so they can see what that area's like

9pm we leave woodbury to go home

11pm get home and try to plan out the next day's activties...the nephew and his gf get into an argument cause she wants to see the statue of liberty in the morning while he wants to go back to saks to buy some more stuff.  timing for statue of liberty didn't work anyways because i had bought tickets for chicago at 1pm

12am we head back out to the city.  we take them to the west village, had hot dogs at gray's papaya, and showed them tattoo shops and a sex shop.  haha we tried to make it the complete NYC experience.  then we stopped in st marks and i took them to BAMN for some snacks.

2am get home and my nephew tells me he wants to wash his socks and stuff so i run a load of freaken laundry!  seriously i was delirious at this point.

Saturday

10am we head back to the city and go shopping at saks.  the nephew wants to also buy some throwback nikes so the hubs takes him to soho while the gf and i stayed at saks.

1pm we meet up to watch Chicago

After Chicago, we took them for dinner at Johnny Rockets, bought some souvenirs, took them inside Grand Central to kill time and for more pictures, and then dropped them off at the bus at 8pm.

Seriously, longest weekend ever.  The hubs and i seriously felt so old after they left.

haha as you can see from the chicago picture the hubs was delirious by that point too!

the day after the nephew left was hubby's birthday.

we went to this awesome go-karting place in NJ.  thanks for the recommendation steph!  i think the hubs had a great time...we did a group package so we were all able to race against each other.  i have pictures on my comp at home so i'll upload them another time.

so the end of june was really hectic and it seems like july is just as hectic.  one of the main highlights so far was i held my first baby last weekend!!!  so yes other than seeing babies on the street i have never seen/held a baby in my life.  being 8 years younger than my sis and the youngest cousin out of my entire family...i've never known anyone with a baby!  i had lunch with some gf's and one of their gf's just had her second child and she let me hold her!  seriously it was the most amazing experience of my life.  we went to said friend's house this past saturday and i was able to hold little emmi again and was also able to snap a picture!

emmi

seriously i am officially baby obsessed.  not like dying to have one but dying to see/hold/learn anything baby related.  the hubs and i are definitely not ready for one though...we really believe that you're never really ready to have a baby until you just have one, but we need to quit smoking, exercise, get healthy, and a whole list of other things before we start trying.  also i'm hoping that some of my friends will get married and be ready to have kids at the same time!

on that note i am totally not ready to turn 27.
